I’m so glad. When I went out to check on her last night, she had been throwing up again, so I sat out there with her for about an hour (its really nice outside around 11). I scratched her ears and neck, she leaned against me, and we watched clouds float over the stars and the moon that was just popping over the hills. I even saw a shooting star. I got up early to check on her, and she was chewing (which meant she had grazed and was keeping it down- or at least just bringing it up to chew- they have 3 or so stomach chambers). She went walking with all her friends today, and was very happy to see her grain at dinner time. Dr. Melinda, her wonderful vet, called to check on her this morning- we love Dr. Melinda!
Took the monkeys to the pool today, and on the way stopped at the post office to see if my sock club shipment from Black Bunny Fibers was there. It was- yippee!
Isn’t it pretty? Its Wool/Nylon Tight Twist- its 75/25 wool/nylon. It’s various shades of Cayenne Red through orange and a tad of pale gold. Named Hot Peppers. There was a nifty little goody included, but since I don’t know if everyone has gotten theirs, I better not mention it yet. Funny, that bright happy roving she did could have been dyed with me in mind- this color is a bit out of my normal “cool” tones range. I like when I get things out of my color comfort zone- you work with something you normally wouldn’t and get a whole new appreciation for how these colors work together. I’ve already decided which friend will get socks made from this for Christmas- and these will be cast on during vacation. Also in my package were the 2 sock yarns I got at her last update. These are two different bamboo blends. First is Bamboo Sock, which is 50 merino/50 bamboo; 400 yds to 4 oz.
The color is “Grove” which is a beautiful blend of silvery pine shades. The yarn is cushy, soft, and has a good bit of sheen. Next is Bamboo Blend, which is 40 wool/40 bamboo/20 nylon. I’m starting to be able to tell right away if a yarn has nylon in it- this yarn feels very strong- has a very tight twist to it, while still retaining the silky shine of the bamboo.
This is called “Birch Beer” and I absolutely love this color. I can see this as a lovely scarf- I’m going to have a hard time parting with something knit from this…
The pool was fun, the kids were crazy. They have so much fun- and they’re such little fishies. Which is good- I want them able to swim and I want them to know they can get themselves to safety if they ever get in trouble- so we spend lots of time just swimming to the side. (but most of the time is just plain nuts!)
Didn’t get much knitting or spinning done today. Need to get a move on on the spinning- want to get the happy yarn plied, then I’ll be making a couple of skeins for Mad For Knit’s raffle for her run for cancer research. I don’t know when exactly the raffle will be, but if you make a donation for the run, you get chances for yarny prizes. So, I should probably be spinning instead of blogging, huh?
Would you believe I didn’t take a single goatie or hammie or keet picture today? Let me peruse the photo archives…
This was back in 2005 shortly after I brought my wonderful Morpheous home (I’ve mentioned him, haven’t I?) And Prince Richard was just a puppy- and still kind of sweet.
Now, to spin!

I don’t think I remember seeing a photo of the doggie Prince Richard before! He’s cute! Glad Izzy is better. You need to put some Ro-pel on those mtn laurels.
gorgeous yarn! I’ll have to check it out. I need some sock yarn for Christmas gifts too. But my friends just get the yarn, not the completed socks! Your friends are far luckier.
